About Baynes
Callaloo mix, like the caribbean delicacy soup is what ‘Baynes’ like to refer his music too. His sound cannot be placed in any specific genre and although the young talent’s passion lies within the areas of hip-hop & R&B, his multi-cultural background of being from Brooklyn & Trinidad, often relates to the island’s and state’s influence which is also known for it’s wide variety of soca, dancehall, & reggae culture. As he diversifies his craft more, Afro-Pop and House Music resonates well into his repertoire as well. Some of his earlier musical influences were artiste such as Iwer George, Destra & Machel Montano, a couple well known giants in the soca community for their globally known energy driven performances. Brooklyn natives like The Notorious B.I.G, Joey Badass and even dancehall and reggae stars such as Vybz Kartel, Movado Popcaan, Beres Hammond, Ky-mani Marley and the Marley family, not to forget the early 2000s Chris Browns, 90s Ms Lauren Hill and popular music from that era.
